Here is Some of My DATA, any advice?

Post by socknitster » Tue Jul 10, 2007 9:22 am

Well, thanks to LindyChris I got my card reader working and am able to share my info thanks to the awesome Wiki set up by another member (sorry forgot your username ).

Here goes:

[img][/img]

I hope I did this correctly. Any thoughts on what this shows? It is a screen shot from MyEncore, James Skinners excellent add-on software that shows trends. The best I can determine myself is that I did better when my min pressure was about 10 (I'm on bipap). When I put it up to 11, there seemed to be a trend of the pressure needing to go much higher. I can post more images of my apnea/hypopnea/flow limitations if you guys want to look at that info.

So, just to see what would happen, I decided to lower my bottom number even more. Down to 9. I'll watch it for a week to see how that trends out.

I'm so excited to be at this stage, finally. I have learned so much in such a short time and there is so much yet to learn! Exciting!

jen

I would love to hear anyone's input and/or suggestions!

I'm going to try posting the image again to see if it will appear larger.

Hi Jen,

I couldn't see the picture on either post. Try cut/paste the "image" string from mypicshare, maybe that'll work. You don't need any html codes (like ) when you do it that way.

Jen,
For tweakin your therapy, you have to know the how pressure changes effect your breathing events - and you haven't got and breathing events info on the chart at all.

I can't make head or tails of the chart as a pressure chart, because it seems to indicate that on June 29 your average IPAP (yellow dots) was lower that your set EPAP (blue line), and evenl ower than your average EPAP.

It also seems to indicate that on that day, your maximum IPAP (brown or violet circles) was higher that your maximum IPAP set.

There must be something I don't understand about the terminology, and I'ld love to hear that pressure chart explained by the Bi pap mavens.

O.

HMMM. I was worried about how this would show up in other browsers. It shows up in mine and you can even click on the image or the link to get to a bigger version of the image. I might need to try a diff image sharing site. I'm new to this technology. I'll try to post more info about more stuff. Jen

Hi Jen.

You are doing great at getting your data to post. You have workable clickable thumbnails. When I click I get full size images which can be magnified. Good going. I'm using Firefox by the way.

Your numbers look pretty good also. While your max leak and large leak are high, your average 90% leak rate and average leak rate are good in my opinion.

My AHI's have had much more variability than yours.

I admire your resolve. Good on ya.

Mike

Thanks, Mike, it certainly is a steep learning curve--even for someone for whom computers are a daily part of life, and have been for most of my adult life. There is so much I don't know. But I'm learning.

Thanks for your comments. I do wake up with large leaks sometimes. Thus goes the neverending search for the perfect interface! (Or inyerface as I like to think of it).

I agree, if you can fix those large leaks you've got it made.

Hi Jen,

Could you post screenshots of two or three nights worth of graphs of your most recent "Sleep Therapy Daily Details" from Encore Pro? Just the graph itself, not the "Daily Events Per Hour" table under it.

Everyone seems to have a favorite thing they look at. I'm not crazy about looking at trends, summaries, long term averages etc. I like to just look at several of the individual sessions in a row from Encore Pro.

Why, yes I can, with my newfound skills! (Can you tell I'm proud of learning something new!)

Right after hour 2 starts on the last graph you can see a large leak spike. This happens to me occasionally. I wake up to a loud leak, the pressure is high (in this case it was responding to an apnea event, it looks like).

I think this is related to not finding the elusive perfect mask. Using the optilife currently with chinstrap and tape.

I didn't go to bed until way too late last night so it doesn't surprise me that I also didn't sleep as well. I was "cooking" something until late into the night. My husband brews beer at home as a hobby. Even though I don't care for beer, I like to help him. But last night I employed his skills in a mead recipe. Mead is beer made from honey instead of grain. Think champagne with a highly floral and light character. Very drinkable.

After you cook it up it has to cool to 80 degrees which takes a long, long time sometimes, before you can pitch the yeast. So HE went to bed and i made the mead, since it is my fave fermented beverage. This time I made it with local honey, some of it from a blueberry farm nearby, ripe peaches, cinnamon and lemon zest along with cascade hops which are very floral. I can't drink it until fall, but it should be the perfect beverage on those cool fall nights, sitting outside and reminiscing about the lovely summer coming to an end! YUM!

Jen,

That mead sounds like it will be good I too brew beer and need to get some made again, it has been a couple of years. I wish I could get some numbers anywhere close to how yours look, but I am still a newbie and probably have a few more masks to try etc.
