Nose Pimple
Ok, it's hard for a 50 year old man to bring up a question that deals with pimples. I thought I'd gotten past that -- quite a few years ago! Still....
I've been using the Hybrid mask with great success for two months or more. There's only one problem. I have been developing a recurring pimple, right at the base of my nose where the divider between nostrils meets the face. The pimple stays for about a week, goes away for two weeks or so, then comes back.
As far as I can tell the Hybrid's pillows don't even touch me at this exact spot, but when I tighten the mask it does cause me a bit of pain there.
Does anyone have any experiences or suggestions on eliminating this new pest?
By the way, I wash my face every night with Cetaphil, which says it is "Non-comedogeneic." I had to look that up -- it means it doesn't cause pimples! (I thought that you stopped being funny if you used their product. )

Supplement with EFA's. They control hormone regulation in the liver. When it's out of balance your skin excretes more sebum, which is a key ingredient to pimples. Another ingredient is toxins, which cause the inflammation. Underactive elimination channels (bowel, kidneys, lungs) can put more pressure on the skin to remove toxins. Take care of the other channels and the skin will get relief.
Washing or peroxide will not take care of the cause, only of the effects.

Hi Jeff,
Are the pillows you are using still attached in the middle? I had the same problem with the Bravo, and found that by removing that plastic piece in the middle, there was no more irritation at the base of the nose. The only caution with that is that the pillows may not be as stable, depending on the contours of your face.
And it is obvious that comedogeneic does not mean what you thought, since your sense of humour seems to be very much intact

How interesting ... thanks for that perspective.Bogof wrote:Supplement with EFA's. They control hormone regulation in the liver. President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
You are welcome. It's only a very condensed summary of years of study and experimenting. In hindsight, I'd wish someone had told me many years back Buying all the miracle stuff is a waste of money. Do a detox and then eat a bag of dark green salad every day instead; anyone with skin issues will come to the same conclusion.DreamStalker wrote:How interesting ... thanks for that perspective.
Blue/red light therapy works well too but still doesn't take care of the underlying issues: http://www.acne-advice.com/products/bea ... arch.shtml

I rarely get pimples on my face but still get them on my back on occasion. When I do have a pimple insurgency, I notice that they always tend to locate on either the right side or the left side of the body but almost never on both sides at the same time ... I have no idea why --- just an observation I have made over the years.

Very intersting. I actually do take a high-quality fish oil every day which should help.Bogof wrote:Supplement with EFA's. They control hormone regulation in the liver. I started using Cetaphil because Ivory made me itch under my mask. Perhaps something in between.
I've got a spare pair of pillows, so I can try cutting. If I hate it I can put in the spare pair.

It sounds to me like it could be an ingrown hair from the pillows pushing nose hair in on itself. That would be in the infection dept. I'd have a dermatologist look at anything that was recurring like that. Might seem silly, but if it keeps coming back it could get much, much worse very fast. The nose isn't the cleanest of body parts so an infection there should be taken seriously. I doubt it is a pimple. As much acne as I have combatted over the years, I don't think I have ever had one inside my nose.
I'd rinse the nose with a sterile saline solution like "Simply Saline" available at Walmart or drugstores until I got into a derm.

I had the same problem as well as occasional chafing/pressure sores. Started using Ayr gel on nostrils and it solved the problem and also helps make a better seal. I try to wash my face with mild soap before bed. But it was the Ayr gel that did the trick. I also keep nostril hair trimmed more regularly.
