Upgrading From Encore Pro 1.5 to 1.8

Post by Rooter » Fri Jun 29, 2007 10:40 pm

I am upgrading my Encore Pro from version 1.5 to 1.8.

Do I need to uninstall the card reader before I install 1.8 and then reinstall it after the upgrade is complete?

Are there any special do's and don'ts to look out for?

I've never uninstalled the card reader before installing a new version of Encore Pro over the old. Always went fine for me to just install a new version of Encore Pro over the old for the past three years. That's been on computers using Win98, Win2K Pro, and now WinXP.

Is there a 1.8 version out? I thought 1.6 was the latest.

I wouldn't uninstall it, especially the reader it may never find it again, driver is the same, just install it over it and it will update what is needed even backing up and restoring the database.

You probably won't notice any difference between the versions unless you use a newer machine with it.

Is 1.8 Compatible with MyEncore?

No, MyEncore I think worked up until 1.6. MyEncore was done by Derek.

James Skinner (member) picked up the baton when Derek became ill and came out with his ProAnalyzer version which works the same with EncorePro. I've used it with my 1.8 without problem.

Snoredog, is the 1.8 version of MyEncore with James Skinners updated Pro analyzer a better way to look at my stats than 1.6 and Derek's MyEncore?
I guess since 1.8 isn't readily available it's just an academic question at best.

basically, yes, got my terms fouled up in first post. I have Encorepro 1.6.22 and Derek's MyEncore analyzer.version 1.587, I was asking if the EncorePro1.8 version along with James Skinner's newer analyzer soft ware was a better way to look at my stats...

Sorry about confusion!!!!!

Just downloaded James Skinners ProAnalyzer and it's a great improvement over Derek's MyEncore. Works fine with EncorePro 1.6....

I just put Windows Vista on my computer and 1.6 does not work anymore. Does anyone know where I can buy an upgrade so I can install 1.8?

Unless you're upgrading to Windows Vista, I fail to see the need to upgrade to 1.8i.
Version 1.5i was released to support the Bi-PAP Auto in 2005. (which you have, according to your profile)
