I am using auto-PAP to treat OSA. I am compliant on the auto-PAP with AHI < 5, but not seeing any improvement of symptoms of fatigue and brain-fog.
During my titration sleep study I had a high index of spontaneous arousals (SA) on PAP - approx. 30 per hour. My sleep doc eventually prescribed Clonazepam (aka Klonopiin aka Rivotril) to see if it would help.
It is my understanding that SAs are not detectable by the auto-PAP.
No other meds and no PLM.
Anybody else out there have anything like this? Any suggestions?

I would want to investigate the cause of the arousals.

DP,
It is my understanding that spontaneous arousals by definition have no known cause. Is that correct? If not, how can I find out what causes them?
According to the sleep study report, they are NOT PLMs, respiratory, or snore arousals.
Thanks for any input.
