nasal prongs

Post by Guest » Fri Jun 22, 2007 10:45 pm

I had surgury about a week ago and they gave me oxygen through those little nasal prongs and I always wondered why someone could not invent the same type of thing for a cpap machine. It seems to be so unobtrusive and tiny so if claustrophobia was an issue this would be the solution or is there already a nasal interface like this already?

Yes. It's called the nasal aire and it's absolutely wonderful. It;s been out as long as I've been on cpap, anyway, about 3 years now.
You can see one at cpap.com or http://www.innomedinc.com

Hi - The little guys can't supply the volume of air in a breaths time cycle also you need to provide a seal because you it's the air pressure that makes CPAP work.

SW

Before: AHI 71.3, SaO2 min 76%
CPAP: 8.0 cm-H2O
Current: AHI < 1.0
