Encore Software Flow Limitation & CPAP mode

Post by Justin_Case » Thu Jun 21, 2007 3:33 pm

Why is that in CPAP mode the Encore s/w will not show you flow limitation yet, if you "trick" it into CPAP mode eg. Low 9 High 9 then it will show you everything?

My guess:
The progaming for the cpap mode is taken from real cpap machines, that don't have to register breathing variations, and therefore of course don't report them.

That of course brings up another question: Why leave a CPAP mode in an APAP machine, when you can tell to use a 9-9 range to get constant pressure?

Good question. The flow limitation info is not available in cpap mode. in addition, in auto mode the pressure will increase .5 cm above the max setting, if required.
