I am looking at purchasing either the Respcare - Hybrid Universal or the Resmed - Mirage Liberty, but can only find reviews on the Hybrid Universal. In looking at the pros and the cons, I am split at to what are the major important deciding factors.
Is anyone using the Mirage that they would be able to provide a little feedback?
The Hybrid has Three different sizes silicone fittings for both nasal and mouth pieces, where as the Mirage only has two different size mask (sm or LG), but they do have 3 diff size nasal pieces. I like the idea of the flexibility of the 3 different sizes and not being limited to just 2 sizes.
I have read that the Hybrid has a comes with head gear that is less then desirable, but Respcare will provide a upgraded version upon request. Where as the Mirage appears to has a quick release snap. I have used this quick release snap system and like it.
The Mirage advertises their Dual layer facial cushions. Sounds great. They also advertises independent trampoline nasal connections, where a the Hybrid appears to only have adjustable cushions.
My gut says to go with the Mirage, but I am afraid of ending up with a mask with wonderful features, that doesn’t fit, and thus becomes useless.
Any one using the Mirage Liberty Hybrid style mask?

gtshipp,
The Liberty is so new that there haven't been many reviews of it yet. To get a true comparison, I think we will need to hear from someone who has used both the Hybrid and the Liberty. Even then, to each their own, and there are likely going to be just as many who like one as the other.
Since you seem to be leaning toward the Liberty anyway, maybe you should buy it, and if you don't like it, use the Mask Roulette thread to trade it for a Hybrid. You would likely get more than one taker.

I'd go the other way - buy the Hybrid, if you don't like it, sell it here on the forum. Lots of members are dying to try it.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Update on what I ened up getting
So after investigating these two masks and finally deciding on which one I thought I wanted. I called my provider, and to my good fortune they now had both mask available for me to try.
I started with the Liberty. I was very impressed with the head gear attachment. I hate to admit it, but it was fairly comfortable. The clips were far better then on the Hybrid,. There are actually two hinge clips on the top, and two snap in clips at the bottom, but I found them not as easy and intuitive as my Fisher Paykel 431. The trampoline nose fitting come in three sizes which allow for me to fine the right size (the Hybrid also comes with three different nose fitting). The mask it’s self comes in either a Small or large only (the hybrid came in three sizes). I was actually worried about this, but the large worked out well for me. Interesting thing about the Hybrid was this awesome portion of the mask that came down under the chin. It felt very secure and comfortable until I relaxed and my chin drop and it pulled the mask almost completely off my face. This was the deal closer for me, and I walked out of the office with my Liberty mask.
The first night wearing it my nostril openings were extremely sensitive and tender and my mouth was extremely dry. I ended up taking off the mask and going back to my old mask. There were no leaks, so I was extremely happy with that.
The second night, I added my humidifier with water to the equation, and it seems to have solved the dry mouth part. My nostrils were still sore, but it was more of a dull pain that was very intense, and extremely difficulty to determine where the pain was originating from.
Two weeks later and I am still using the Mirage Liberty. My nostrils are still a little sensitive, but they are slowly toughen up and I notice the pain less and less. Every once in a will lining up the nostril fitting is a little tricky, and at times I get a little leakage from here, but seems to be easily corrected. The mask as a whole has a mouth opening affect, which basically seems to apply pressure on both my upper lip and lower jaw, so I find my mouth almost forced in the open position like you are going to bit on an apple.
Pros of the Liberty:
------------------------------
I like how it frees up more of my face and I can itch my nose at night. I don’t seem to have any leak problems and it is comfortable as can be, (being that you have foreign object attached to your face).
Con of the Liberty:
----------------------------
Currently the nose cushions are creating extra pressure on my nostrils that is a dull pain that quickly goes away as soon as the mask is removed, and is very difficult to pin point as to the cause.
The mask seems to cause my mouth to be open more which then cause me to wake up with a dryer mouth, even though I have added the humidfyer.

I tried the Liberty at the DME a few days ago, and what I did not like was the pressure on the upper teeth. It seems like the only way to have both a good seal on the nose pillows and on the mouth piece was to pull tight and I was afraid my teeth might slowly move inward! If I remember correctly, you cannot change the angle of the nose pillows, so the mask might be more comfortable if you naturally fit the mask design (not my case, obviously, and I think that's why I had to pull it tight...). The DME did not recommend it to me, and suggested I get the Mirage Quattro... Any gently used medium size Quattro for sale or trade out there (I only have a CL2 to trade though...)
hybrid mask
i have had the hybrid for about three weeks now and i dont like it the mask nasel pillows seem to get weak and come out in the night causing it to blow in your eye. do have hybrid and will trade for a quttro any takers.
