Any Techie Modify CPAP filter to use HEPA Respirator Filter?

Post by goober » Sun Jun 03, 2007 10:48 am

I'm thinking that I could avoid having to clean / replace the filters on my Remstar if I could modify the machine to allow me to attach a Respirator HEPA filter. The respirator HEPA filter would be no more restrictive than the factory filters and would last for a long long time. Any thoughts?

I don't see a need for it. Five minutes a month to change the filters to keep it stock, isn't a hardship. The main reason I change mine is to keep the airflow up, so it cooler. Jim

Anyway since I have that big ugly "Tank", any mod's would just make it bigger and heavier that might break my night table from the overload.

An Apollo 13 type mod?
My RemStar has one washable filter and one replaceable filter. I wash it every week and have replaced the other once - at about 6 months. I actually found this place while searching for replacement filters. Mine sits on a hardwood floor and I have an infestation of cats....

Not cheap but then not near as expensive as I thought they'd be.
