Call For Questions: Probasics Silent Traveler Interview

Post by forumadmin » Fri Jun 01, 2007 4:21 pm

Howdy CPAPtalkers,

Before my pitch, check this out:

Ok, here goes the pitch:

CPAP.com is contacted regularly by aspiring makers of all kinds of CPAP equipment. I seem to have been appointed the CPAP.com product filter and in the role admit I've grown pretty cynical and just plain hard to deal with. For every Snugglehose or CPAP.com battery pack, I kiss a lot of frogs.

When Ted "the Titrator" volunteered to try it out and came back reporting it was quiet on top of being small and lightweight, Adam and I got interested. We pitched it to my father who decided after a good deal of fiddling that dropping it off his desk onto the floor and plugging it back in would provide him with the final data point he'd need to decide if this was worth backing. I'm happy to report that we plugged the Silent Traveler in, he started right up, and here we are prepping for another CPAPtalk interview.

We are told it will be priced competitively for the value traveler CPAP niche. From our preliminary tests, its heater performs well and has a nice big tank. And, as previously mentioned, its quiet. The size is the first thing that jumps out at you, here are more pictures for your enjoyment:

Probasics has agreed to an interview. If you have questions you would like included, fire away.

Bring it on!

Post by luneman » Fri Jun 01, 2007 5:12 pm

Bring it on! I am for anything travel-wise! I travel each week international. My 420E is small and durable but is LOUD!. Any improvement on the travel front is great.

Does it have a DC option. Is it 110V - 240V?

Sleep,pleeease God.....Sleep!

Where's the humidifier? Is it integrated into that unit, or separate?

Neat! I love small!

Cheers,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Does it have;
Pressure relief on exhale?
DC cable?
Direct battery operation?
Integrated battery?
Auto altitude adjustment?
Any data capabilities?
Ramp?
What is the weight?

Is it a straight cpap or does it also come as an apap.

Thank you!

Cute little machine.

I do like that it has the hose connection on top of the humidifier water chamber, just like the 420 machine beside it. Makes it easy for the "just wanna add more without dumping the water out" users -- like me!

Heater

Post by Steve Peters » Thu Jun 07, 2007 9:46 am

Jonny,
Just curious what the Pro Basic looks like with the heater attached, all units for that matter since more than 80% of all patients use the cpap with a heated humidifier and what the co stance on water damage? Thanks.

420g

Does anyone know how to change the pressure on the 420g. I feel mine is set to high, i'm waking up with stomach pain due to too much air. Thanks

Does the heated humidifier have its own power cord, or is shared with the cpap?

What is the weight of this machine? With & without the humidifier? Are there different models available? An auto maybe? Is the machine compatible with every mask on the market?

What type of warranty does this machine have?
