Northern California DME Recommendations?

Post by yosemitelor » Wed May 30, 2007 9:02 pm

Can ANYONE please recommend a good DME in Northern California? - After much wrangling i thought i finally found one - but i was wrong. They gave me a loaner machine (on a rental contract) supposedly until my machine - the new auto with a-flex - came in the next week. Well its been 2 weeks and i called them and now they say sorry they will not get me the a-flex even tho it says on our contract they will. I am so sick of fighting to get what my doctor prescribed. Anyone know a DME in northern california that will just issue what the doctor has prescribed and the insurance allows without tryin to charge the extra for the apap machine? I live up near Yosemite National Park, but will travel to work with a good DME THANKS for all your help on here - you people are GREAT![/b]

just order it on-line from CPAP.com, it will show up UPS and return the loaner.

What is the closest town to you? Mariposa? Fresno?

I would just order the item you want on-line and be done with it. Call your doctor's office and tell them the DME is giving you the runaround and to fax the prescription over to cpap.com.

How much was your deductible? Compare that to the price of just buying the machine outright.

It is only $595.00 here with free shipping:

I would suggest getting the F&P HC150 humidifier for it, it will work with any machine you get, the integrated one doesn't work all that well anyway:

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Hi there...

This is my DME. They seemed to want to go out of their way to make sure I had the right mask, machine etc. They spent a lot of time with me and I felt cared for.

They're based out of the Sacramento area.

Timberlake took reasonably decent care of me. They accepted Tricare and Medicare with no problem. They even delivered the expensive heliox without knowing Tricare would pay for it. To me, it felt like they were willing to take care of me and would worry about the money later. And their equipment was fairly new. Smaller companies can be more personable it seems, but they have limitations that can sneak up on you. Like taking any of their equipment out of state is not allowed.

Apria is pretty good once you find the right person. They are nationwide, which is a big help to me right now. I have 3 or 4 Aprias between me and Denver. That is a plus. They even have one person who coordinates with
other Aprias, like the one in Denver, notifying them of my needs when I arrive.

They will mail things for you, saving you some traveling. How about Merced,
or Modesto, have you checked for DMEs there?

I have spent a few years around Briceburg, Mariposa, Fishcamp, and dog town....nice area to live in.

Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.
