Hi and thank you!

Post by IndySleeper » Thu May 24, 2007 10:47 am

I was diagnosed with OSA at the beginning of this month and received my machine a couple of weeks ago. So far, so good... still getting used to the mask though!

This site has been incredibly informative for me. I was prescribed a pressure of 6.0 when I received my machine, but never noticed any improvement on my sleep... in fact, I would sometimes wake up feeling starved for air. Then I saw the posts about how to change the pressure settings and how sometimes your initial titration isn't too accurate. I upped my pressure to 8.0 and have felt a million times better! Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thanks to everyone!

Hi Indy, sounds like you are off to a good start. Best of luck in the
future.

I really cannot understand why people are given CPAP machines set at
such low pressures. Or APAP machines set at 4-20. There are three problems
with settings lower than 7 cm/H2O:
1) Most full-face masks require a pressure of at least 5 to stay sealed.
2) Enough flow through the mask to: A) fill your lungs, and B) flush out
enough C2O.
3) Most people require different pressures, depending on sleep position,
must have enough pressure to prevent hypopnea, in all conditions.

Are you from Indy? I'm from Nobletucky, and Goofball is from Terry Hut.

Do you mean Goofproof (Jim)?

Goofballs can be found just about anywhere in the world

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Goofball, Goofproof, what's the difference?
Just my very small attempt at a joke.

Psst! Don't tell anyone, but I'm trying to raise Skinner's blood pressure on
another post.

I guess I'm bored...got to do something else for awhile..I think I'll
go bug those 'experts" on the "Nikonians" forums for the rest of the day..

cu..later
