does it hurt sometimes?

Post by sleepyhead63 » Sun May 20, 2007 8:36 pm

Man I'll tell ya sometimes in the middle of the night I wake up and the air is shooting up my nose it seems like a 100 miles an hour and it hurts for lack of a better term and I rip off wy nasal mask and another unsuccessful night and wake up the next morning and think here we go again. Hope I can get it together soon, not liking this.

That is the reason I do better with a nasal mask instead of a pillows system. The air straight up my nostrils causes sinus irritation with me.

you might want to try a different style of mask - when I use nasal pillows I feel the gusts up my nose, but when I use a nose cover mask I don't - just my experience is all - don't know if my experience is shared by others

What's your pressure setting? Do you monitor your therapy (LCD or software)?

The only time I even feel the air going up my nose is if the pillows have come dislodged from their position. Any chance your pillows are the wrong size, or maybe your pressure is so high as to be better not using pillows?

What helped me was turning on the heat on my humidifier.
Normally I just use the humidifier in passover mode but during the winter when my room got a little cooler than usual I began to feel pain in my nostrils from the cool air.
After I turned the heat on the problem went away.

Might be worth a shot.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body totally worn out and screaming,WOO HOO what a ride!

I'm with Tooly. If you're feeling a burning feeling like I was, then jack that humidifier up. I use mine on max.
