Full Face Mask - Which one?

Post by clarenceh9 » Wed Mar 23, 2005 9:08 pm

I am thinking I need a full face mask, due to dry mouth in the mornings.
I was looking at the "Ultra Mirage:, "Comfortfull" or the "Flexifit HC431"

Any comments on whose would be the best one to try? I now use the "ComfortGel Mask Small" nasal mask.

I am using the REMstar Auto with CFLEX .

Thanks

I use the "Comfortfull" with the REMstar Auto with C-Flex. I also have a humidifier feature that I love.
The comfortfull mask for me, is pretty leaky. Although, I've only been using it for three weeks, I often wake up several times per night to a loud "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS" because the seal has come loose on part of my face. I adjust it and go back to sleep.
My General Dr. said that if it leaks it doesn't work. I can tell you that I am more tired now than when I started the CPAP. I see my Pulminologist next week.....
I think the fit of the mask is quite comfortable, although I do NOT have experience with other masks yet. So please take that into consideration when reading my comment.
Truly, Danielle

The Resmed Ultra Mirage is the better mask of the full face masks that you have mentioned. There are a number of threads on this, use the big search button on the top.

I use the Flexifit HC431 and love it. I've tried the Comfort and it woke me up a lot, mostly leaks. I don't wake up because of leaks with the Flexifit HC431

I own both the HC431 and UltraMirage FFM. I used the HC431 a grand total of 3 nights and retired it. Although it was not uncomfortable, I had very high incidences of Hypopneas and snoring using it. My AHI was in the high 20s all nights and I felt rotten in the mornings, so I know it wasn't my machine misreading the mask. I use a ResMed Spirit, and tried it both in apap and cpap modes with similar results. Please remember though, that everyone is different, and there are surely many satisfied users of the HC431 out there! It is
