humidifier question

Post by sweetdreams » Mon May 14, 2007 5:58 pm

I have had my remstar auto with c/flex with h-humidifier for about 7 months. When I turn on the humidifier to warm up while getting ready for bed, about half the time it only stays on a few minutes and doesnt seem to warm up and other times it stays on about 15 and the tank is warm to the touch and air is warm. This has happened the past couple of months. I make sure I have touched the on pad correctly, made sure the humdifier is seataed in the tray, etc. Does this sound defective?

Thanks for any info. I would rather ask you guys first before I go tell my dme anything.

The HH is just suppose to heat the water a little, (105 degrees), you will still have to go to McDee's for coffiee. When the water gets to the preheat temp the heater shuts off, if the XPAP is turned off the HH goes off too. It is not supposed to heat the airstream, just makes the water evaporate a little faster. Thanks Jim. Then why is it inconsistent? It can be on 10-15 minutes and the tank is warm (down next to the water) to touch and the blowing air feels warmer. Then it can shut off in a couple of minutes and can't tell if it has warmed at all. Is it overheating if I can feel the warm? Sweetdreams

If the blower isn't running and it's on it's preheating, If the blower is on and the HH is turned on , and the blower stays on and the HH turns off, it's broken, I think. Mine is the "Classic Tank", that's how it works, I don't know if the "M"agic thinks differently. Jim

I guess it ain't broke. The hh has not turned off with the blower on. I guess the actual temp doesn't matter then, or that it is sometimes on longer than at other times when it shuts off. Thanks for the info.
