You need to either use a full face mask or tape your mouth shut. I tape every night. Works great for me.

Ouch!

The FF mask you tried during your titration may not have been fitted properly. There are definitely FF mask options out there for you.

Since your leak rate is all over the place a FF mask seems like a reasonable thing to try.

It sounds like you aren't willing to accept treatment. Jim

If you are having big and large leaks, your machine isn't going to record "events" so your software shows a low AHI and large leaks all night and your real AHI might be astronomical.

I would say use some corks, but that might hurt a bystander. Jim

Nope and nope. I start off with it closed and breathing through my nose. At some point I may open my mouth and breathe through it. Sometimes I do wake up with my mouth open but I'm breathing through my nose - that really dries out my mouth. It's not common, though.

I never have a problem with my lips flapping. I don't know if they could with a FF mask.

I completely understand not wanting to tape. I was reluctant to try it in the first place - it seemed a bit dangerous. However, I did try the tape so I could use a nasal-only mask. But, it seemed my mouth really wanted to be open because when I woke up there was a nice rip straight across the center.

While a lot of people prefer to tape or train themselves to keep their mouths closed so they can use nasal-only masks, I prefer to simply use a FF mask. It works for me and it might work for you as well. I posted a lot of information about what I know about the FF masks on a different forum. You might want to start there to get the list of FF masks available and a little info about them. Then, you can search here for specific feedback about the masks that inerest you http://www.apneasupport.org/viewtopic.php?t=10089

don't tell DSM but I have taken mine apart and put it back together and it does work

noisy yes and I used it one night with a standard computer power cord

only thing I wonder about it is what is the use for the ethernet port in the top of the tower. what data is stored to be transmitted? it has to be set with a manometer
