UPPP

ok ... so i was at my ENT's office for
follow up on my sinoscopy and septoplasty...

on the white board, i saw and "artists rendidition"
of what looked like a UPPP...

when my doctor showed up in the room, i asked him...
"is this your artwork?"

he said yeah, you like it?
i said "it looks painful"
this artist rendidtion basically looked
like a cookie cutter heading straight down the
esophagus...
then i asked him "is that the UP3?"
he said yeah, the sleep apnea surgery.
I asked him, "does it work?"
he said where the procedure excels is in the
reduction of snoring, and as far as a cure for
apnea, in HIS words, its "so-so"....

we continued to discuss the "extreme options"
for going for the magic pill, i.e. jaw adjustment to
tracheotomy.. .

then i proceded to let him shove a 5 inch long
pair of pliers up my nose to get the sinus spacers out...

just my observation of the day...
