What can I do w/3 day old Cpap - Cpap.com won't exchange.

Post by Dark_Star » Tue May 08, 2007 9:27 am

Hey all,

I have a 3 day old CPAP machine (see specs below) and want to upgrade it... But cpap.com said no returns.

I did not realize until after I received it ..that it was not upgradeable to being able to collect all the data and utilize the Encore Pro software.

It is the new, compact M series - M Series Plus with C-Flex CPAP Machine with Heated Humidifier .... but really need the M Series PRO.

I really want the software capabilities .. since I do not have insurance and thought I can better chart my progress and really need the Pro version.

SO what are my options? Any help where I can sell it quick and easy.

Anyone want to buy a near new machine? It has about 12 hours on it

I can sell it with or without the Humidifier.

-----------------------------------
M Series Plus with C-Flex CPAP Machine with Heated Humidifier. All Like new and with all accessories, manuals and 2 year warranty.

Since it is basically new it would be great for someone as a back-up, or for traveling or for a new Cpap user. I even have the directions to change the pressure settings.

Complete system would be $400.00 with humidifier or $300 without humidifier. I'll ship it UPS for free.

I saw on Ebay someone selling a "humidifier with complete setup" and then a disclaimer that it's illegal to sell the cpap. She had the same system, and only pictured the humidifier, tubing, masks, etc.

I say try that and see what happens. You can always PM people that you're throwing in the CPAP free of charge.

LOL,
B.

Why don't you get the machine you REALLY want and then use this one for a backup? Ya never know when you may need a spare......

I second Den's suggestion. You never know when you need a backup. Also, there's no need to buy a second humidifier. You just need the new cpap (or apap)

I've read about all the capabilities of software on this board and they seem to really be important to a lot of folks. I'm not one of them. I have that same machine and have been using it for 4 months. It works great, I sleep great, and I feel so much better I could care less how many events I have, what my O2 levels are, etc. Why not just keep it and use it as is? If it's not working, maybe get the software. If you have a car that's running poorly and you take it in to get fixed and it runs like a champ when you get it back, do you keep messing with it after it's fixed? Same thing - but to each his own! If it were me though, I'd never buy something like that on e-Bay.

Thanks...

I appreciate the replies..

The think the software would be helpful to me.. I should have just got the better machine to begin with. I was just so excited to get going I did not research enough.

I realize the humidifier works on both.. so the best thing is for me to find someone looking for an entry level machine.. The Remstar M series basic is $300. So now someone could get the added C-flex feature and I think the altitude adjustment feature for the same cost as the basic.

Hopefully somebody .. here may be interested.

I guess I can try eBay.. But prefer to sell privately.

Again.. the cpap system is only 3 days old and still has the 2 year warranty.

you cannot sell CPAP machine on e-Bay!

you can only sell humidfiers and masks

Yahoo auctions allow selling CPAP, it is closing though and you have many competitors there

Ebay is not a good option. Usually, ebay will pull the auction -- once they get wind of it. Ebay doesn't allow items requiring a prescription to be sold.

Heck, they even yanked a cpap hose I was trying to sell. And yet, they allow masks. Go Figure.

I think you should save it, but if you want to sell it, just start a thread about it with the price and see if you get any bites.

Just thought I'd post a section from eBay's seller rules. I've highlighted the lines about cpap machines:

"Examples of Medical Devices that are not permitted on eBay:

Contact lenses

Prescription eyewear (vintage eyeglasses sold for collectible purposes are permitted)

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) units and their accessories that require a prescription

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulators (TENS) machines and their accessories that require a prescription

Oxygen concentrators, oxygen compressors, oxygen conservers and their accessories that require a prescription

Defibrillators that are not approved for over-the-counter sale

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), Bilevel Positive Airway (BiPAP) devices, and Variable Positive Airway Pressure (VPAP) devices that require a prescription

Implantable devices, such as pacemakers, heart valves, vascular grafts, ventricular bypass devices, and implantable infusion pumps.
"

I see and I do appreciate the info.

I do sell quite a bit on eBay and wouldn't want to break the rules.

Besides.. I would feel better selling it to someone here on this site.

I really cant afford two machines.. I am just starting out and would rather spend the money on other Cpap related items like the Encore Pro sw.

Ok Thanks.. Will start a new topic forsale.

from what I have seen on the cpap auctions on ebay, people list it as a humidifier or accessories, do not say anything in writing about it including the cpap machine, but show it in the picture. State that the auction is for the humidifier and all the shown attachments. They seem to work.

Ok.. I am going to try and sell here on this site.

Hoping someone needs a great deal!

My new Remstar M Series Pro is coming in tomorrow.

I am asking $275 for the Remstar M Series Plus with C-flex complete with all included accessories, carry bag and paperwork in orig box as new. Just 4 days old.

Is the $275 a fair price ? ... it sells for $390 online at Cpap.com https://www.cpap.com/productpage-advanced.php?PNum=2114

This would be a great machine for someone...
