Hello!
I think I have worked out several kinks and as a result got 8 hours on the mask 2 nights ago. But instead of feeling better or even okay, I felt incredibly tired, and spent the day in bed, either asleep or reading. I could not get out of bed until 8pm, and then went to sleep again at bedtime.
So last night I had it on for an hour, felt like I couldn't breathe and took it off. I feel tired by am able to function today.
The doctor suggested that the adjustment to cpap might be making me feel the way I was and suggested trying a night without the cpap to see how I felt the next day.
So I am confused, again, and not sure what to do tonight. Is having a day of extreme fatigue normal at this point in treatment? Or at least not unheard of?
First full night on cpap - incredibly tired next day???

There is a good possibility you may experience a period of adjustment to the machine that will make you feel really bad. I did. Yhink about having many partial arousals throught the night caused by apneas versus having several complete awakenins caused by adjusting to the machine. When I got the settings right and got a mask to fit things got tremendously better. I can still have a bad night but it is usually caused by bad sleep hygene e,g, food, drink, timing, etc. Hang in it will improve.

I have been on Cpap for a week. The first day after I felt good but have had 2 bad nights since then. And the following day I felt tired. Give it some time. Last night I had a great sleep and today felt good. But tonight could be another bad night who knows.
If you read more posts on here you will see it took some people weeks or months to get use to it and before they started feeling better.
Stick with it and I think you will see that you start to feel better.

What did your PSG say?
There is one theory from a company that makes a watch that monitors your sleep, it supposedly wakes you up at the best time or when you are near awake. This is supposed to wake and/make you feel better based upon a certain stage of sleep.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
My pressure is running 6-8 on Auto, with clex of 2. I have not had PSG - they don't do them here because there is more than a year wait list.
I have done up to 4.5 hours a night in the last couple of weeks, but this was the first full night. I wonder if it is some kind of rebound.
I am not sure I want to NOT use it tonight.

I would also suggest using the ramp feature; you might set it for at least 20-30 minutes. I have been on CPAP for a week now and find the ramp is great for going to sleep. I am used to it enough that if I wake in the middle of the night (bathroom break or otherwise) and need to take my mask off I don't even need the ramp when I put it back on. I have gotten so used to it that when I wake in the morning I have to open my mouth to make sure the CPAP is even working because I don't notice it! Stick with it; it just takes time.
