I have come across discussions on bedside stands or cabinets for the CPap or BiPap machines but I can't find them on a search.
I'm interested in what other people have done to make the presence of the machine in the bedroom look less frightening or clinical to visitors. I would like to find a cabinet with doors that I can place the machine in and close up during the day. I prefer my machine to be at about the level of my bed so I can access it easily and have plenty of hose. It would have to be a low to floor design.
I would appreciate any ideas.
John

I've thought about making one, since I made all the furniture in my house anyway except for the leather couch in the family room.
I thought about making another oak night stand to hold the cpap machine with a drop down door in the side facing the bed. The drawer fronts would be false and/or just a door that opens sideways instead of a pull-out drawer. You would pull the side door it would drop down, could even have a slide-out tray so the machine slides out, you grap the mask & hose and turn on the machine.
Someone comes over, you slide the whole setup inside and close the door. 3/4" wood knocks down the sound quite a bit. You could also get some of that sound deadening foam they install inside the machine to quieten them down. You can buy that stuff on-line if you search for it.
I thought about making it into another headboard. I already have a custom made red oak headboard now that I made many years ago. My bed goes into the wall about a 16" deep alcove to recess the bed into the wall in the master bedroom to give the bedroom more room.
I already have a custom made oak headboard that is about 12" deep, it has a mirror back (hey I was younger when I made it, what can I say...), build in Infinity speakers on each side with wicker grills, Blaupunkt stereo with CD (made before iPods were even thought of) and power dimmer for the room lights. But I figured that was too much work to modify what I have and I suspect that it may even amplify any noise from the machine, besides it would probably obstruct the mirror view
I think putting the machine lower is better anyway for reducing any rain out.

Just bought a beside table from CB2 ("true nightstand" http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=400&f=1950&viewall=1) and it is just perfect! The REMstart M series fits comfortably on the middle opened shelf (and easy to open to refill the humidifier). I made a hole at the back to pass the hose and the cord (easy with a drill and the jigsaw) which I lined with felt (so the hose does not get damaged by sharp edge). I choose the black version so the CPAP looks even more inconspicuous... And the 1 gal distilled water jug fits in the closed door cabinet (had not planned on it, that was a nice surprise...)
And while I was at it, for extra fun and a sense of serenity (?), I bought a Buddha head which is perfect to rest the mask on during the day (about human size... http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=527&f=3194). Someone came today and saw the bedroom and did not even ask a question (I have a lot of art and quirky stuff in the house, and I think he thought it was a sculpture!)
Good luck!
