Encore Pro analyzer question

Post by wolftracker » Thu Apr 12, 2007 3:24 pm

hi all,

i have vista
i have the new encore pro 1.8

it seems to be working fine...
card reader reads
data loads.

the problem i seem to be having is that encore pro analyzer
keeps giving me an error message

CANNOT open database "EncorePro" requested by the login. The
login failed.

Login failed for user 'WolfTracker-PC\WolfTracker'

Any one else having this type or problem that might be able
to give me an idea of what to look for.

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, I did not set up a name for the
database. It appears to have taken off the laptop itself.
The data remains on the smart card.

I am just not sure where to go.

I'm sure somebody can help you. Can you get into MyEncore reports?

Well, MyEncore 1.5b.7 worked with Pro 1.6, so I wonder why it won't work with 1.8

Can you remove the MyEncore program and reinstall it to see if it will work? (keeping in mind that I'm not computer literate). ....

The myencore only worked partially with 1.6, some of the charts it generated were missing. James Skinner's version allowed for all of the charts to show up. I think it had something to do with a different named file or database in 1.6 versus 1.5, but he would be much better at explaining than I.

I believe your problem is you are running Vista and if I understand many programs that ran and run fine in previous OS (ie XP) do not in Vista as MS changed a way it handles some internal routines .. Anyway, that is my guess but James will no doubt know it that is happening. Note Encore 1.8 big change is it works with Vista. I am guessing James will have to do something to his great program. I really enjoy his program makes reading (understanding) Encore sooo much easier..

Good luck

Has anyone else with 1.8 had this problem.
Jim does not have the software and said to

V1.8 and Encore Pro Analyzer

Post by leonardlake » Sat Apr 14, 2007 8:58 am

I just received my V1.8 and installed it on Windows XP. It read my data just fine for last night and Encore Pro Analyzer added all the information to its graphs.

If I remember correctly, the bigger issue was with the M series did not work as well with MyEncore. I think the classic remstar did not have issues.

MyEncore didn't work at all with 1.7 so I don't expect it will work with 1.8 either.

I'm using Vista but I don't have 1.8 so its hard for me to trouble shoot this issue. Vista tightened up the security and 1.8 uses a newer version of the SQL database engine so I suspect its something to do with that.

EPA works fine on Vista with 1.7. I'm pretty sure some people have EPA working with 1.8 on XP. I'm just not certain if anyone has both Vista and 1.8 working with EPA?

More Vista questions:

Does Encore Pro 1.6.22 work with Vista?

Does the current EPA work on Vista?

Anything I need to know when loading Encore or EPA on Vista?

Are the upgrades/revision of Encore Pro 1.7 or 1.8 available to people who currently have earlier versions?

I can do this, I will do this.
