From what I understand Bret (sleepGuy) has temporoarily closed the store as he does some more testing. You can probably ask him for more details.
W
Pressure 7-9 C-Flex 3 AHI 1.6
Mirage Swift
Marine Mask Seal so my mask doesn't leak
Polygrip Strips so my mouth doesn't leak
Di-Oval for aerophagia
Eye drops for air coming out my tear ducts
Pur-Sleep so I can fall asleep despite all of the above.

That's the official line, anyway. I find it highly curious that it happened right after someone called the FDA and informed them about the product, though. The timing is suggestive.

We'll probably never know for sure, but perhaps like some other folks here the FDA thought that the "cosmetics" designation was a wee bit of a stretch, and seemed too much like merely a strategy to avoid medical device regulations.

If the FDA gets involved (if they're not already), I doubt you'll ever see the product again, unless (1) its inventor suddenly came across the probably-huge amount of money needed to obtain FDA approval, or (2) he has insufficient money for that and instead sells the relevant patents to a giant corporation who can afford to get FDA approval.

All this, of course, suggests a spirited debate about how far the FDA's powers should extend over products like this one where the long-term safety hasn't been proven but where the benefits might be large. Should they be able to shut down such operations, and to what extents and in what situations? But I believe we've had those discussions here already.
