AirFit (Silicone) vs AirTouch (Memory Foam)

I did a search and did not find a thread that was specific on the consensus of Silicone vs Memory Foam!

Before I get all the hate, I KNOW that there is no one better than the other because it's totally perspective and everyone has different experiences with different CPAP equipment.

I'm just trying to get a 'group consensus'! For anyone/everyone who has tried 'BOTH' AirFit AND AirTouch, which one did you prefer and why?

Like I said, just trying to get a consensus of which one gets more 'preference' than the other and why.

I've used them both, and F30, F40, and x30i too. All are high quality and none are directly comparable for what should be obvious reasons.

There's no such thing as 'group consensus' when it comes to specific personal criteria, such as fit, comfort, features, unique facial structure, sleeping style, and PAP therapy settings etc.

I disagree as there being 'no such thing' as group consensus!?!?

If you survey 100 people, who have tried both, and 35 prefer A, and 50 prefer B, and 15 have no preference, that's DEFINITELY a consensus saying that most people have a consensus and prefer B.

What's hard to understand about that?

I even went to lengths to go over all the different criteria being different for each one, but IF you tried them both, you either have a preference of one over the other, or you don't and choose to abstain!

I have used both frames and the Air Touch is definitely more comfortable and leaves less marks on the face. As for longevity I haven't noticed much difference.

Ah geez... Taking a simple unqualified "this one vs. that one" survey, poll, or vote on some consumer item from a random group of unknown anonymous users in a public internet forum—just so you can make your own judgement whether you want to buy one too—isn't the same at all as achieving a consensus on the item in question. Not even close.

Consensus is a Latin word, derived from the verb consentire. It literally refers to the process of identifying a general or widespread agreement or harmony on something among the members of a group.

This thread seems to be turning into a pissing contest and those aren't particularly productive so how about we not go down that road any further?

I've used both:

AirTouch - Extremely comfortable, but leakage is variable (from zero leaks to a gale). The cushion does not last well - I've had some split after a few weeks.

AirFit - Reasonably comfortable, but does raise a pressure sore on the bridge of my nose. Cushions last a long time - up to a year or so.

I'd prefer to use the AirTouch, but the short life and high cost rule against it.

I am a pillows person and use the P30i ones. Since the Airtouch N30i and Airfit P30i frames are interchangeable i use the Airtouch N30i frame and the P30i cushion for a combo which works great.
