OSCAR 2.0 is the successor to the OSCAR 1.7 product line, switching from file-based storage to a SQLite database. It is the foundation on which future versions of OSCAR will be built. In normal use, the look, feel, and operation of OSCAR 2.0 remain familiar to OSCAR 1.7 users, eliminating the learning curve when upgrading. The main difference is how the data is stored, along with new ways to access detailed data for customized reports or analysis.
OSCAR 2.0 uses a separate data folder (OSCAR20_Data) from OSCAR 1.7 (OSCAR_Data), so both versions can coexist on your computer, making it easier to compare the two and switch between them.
What's New
OSCAR 2.0 adds several major features for users who want to examine their data more closely and share it with others. These new features also provide a foundation for future development:
1. CSV Export (File | Export Data | CSV Export Wizard...) replaces the old CSV Export with a more flexible and powerful export tool. You can extract any numeric information visible in OSCAR, or the underlying data needed to recalculate those numbers yourself.
2. Share Profile (File | Profiles | Share Profile...) allows you to extract a portion of your profile -- a day, a week, a month, or a custom range -- and save it to a file, Dropbox, or Google Drive. If saved to the cloud, OSCAR provides a URL that you can give to another OSCAR 2.0 user, who can restore the shared data directly from the cloud and examine it in OSCAR. This makes it easy to share data with another user so they can examine your data with OSCAR's full capabilities.
3. Backup Profile and Restore Profile (File | Profiles) let you package an entire profile -- or a selected date range from a profile -- into a .oscar file that can be imported into any OSCAR 2.0 installation. You can also create a backup of a profile that includes the CPAP SD card data.
4. Direct database access Because OSCAR 2.0 stores its data in SQLite, any SQL-capable application -- such as spreadsheets, Python, R, or database tools -- can read OSCAR's data directly, including waveform data used for graphs. We have a demonstrator program that shows how a Python script can access flow rate and pressure data from OSCAR and plot it.
We also have a long list of bug fixes and enhancements.
As always, OSCAR is completely free and you can download it from https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/.

Re: Announcing OSCAR 2.0 -- a major new version of OSCAR
You know what would be helpful, and ResMed may need to be brought in, and that is to show what mask was used during the night's sleep. I think it would be enough to specify nasal, pillow or full face. The actual mask would be better but that might be too large a change and there is no way the software could pick up the mask ID. Imagine incorporating that information with the Oscar results and that could work well even with multiple masks.
The other thing that would be helpful would be to record side sleeping or back sleeping. That would need ResMed to utilize some device that could detect how you sleep. You can't put a device in every mask but may you attach something to the mask you use.
There are so many variables that can cause problems, even those brought about by getting older and I think we know the Sleep Doctors or their PAs, NPs or other office workers are often too lazy or too uninformed to be Sleep Doctors or others who are capable enough for that responsibility. How many Sleep Doctors want to see all you Oscar information and they just say, leave me with the summary. So they miss lots of things like Ipaps being stopped by the limit used in the prescription. To make matters worse, ResMed seems to not want to exist for solving problems and wants all of us to utilize the DMEs, when one knowledgeable IMPORTANT PARTY needs to be driving problem solving, especially when science and mask and machine design. I am sure, that happens to some degree but then why do the end consumers need to get involved. I know ResMed can't handle every complain and that should belong to the DMEs but sometimes that issues are way beyond what the RT at the DMEs can or are willing to jump into.

OSCAR does know the Mask Type set in my Resmed Airsense 11.

That's just what the user selected in the CPAP settings screen. OSCAR has no knowledge of what the actual mask is -- it could be anything.
