Good in-line pressure meter for the AirSense 10?

Post by Physician » Tue May 26, 2026 11:53 pm

Has anyone here used a pressure meter to check their CPAP pressure? Please share the make and model of the meter. Here is one on Amazon, but it has only one review: https://a.co/d/0dDmbAR6

I bought this one a few years ago....

I had to fabricate some simple adapters to fit the hose. It works well.

Wow! Excellent unit, craftsmanship, and picture! So this was an end cap measurement? Could you vary the CPAP pressure while the meter was in place and check the meter accuracy? Could this meter be adapted to being in line so you could use the CPAP ?

It's an 'end cap' static measurement. I don't how you could do an inline measurement as the pressure would be all over the place depending the resistance of ones breathing. Since the static pressure measurement matches what the AS10 displays, I'm pretty confident that the variable pressures that are shown on an OSCAR report are accurate and those would be considered an 'inline' dynamic measurement.

The 'fitting' is nothing more than a wooden dowel that I sanded down to a slight taper to fit the CPAP hose end and has a hole drilled through the center. There is a brass fitting inserted into the dowel and epoxied in place. Probably could be done in a different way as well. The hoses shown were supplied with the manometer. I had other reasons to have the manometer, such as checking the draft on my pellet stove.

Excellent work. Did you vary the CPAP pressure and found the meter reasonably accurate? It's unclear as to why this could not be placed in line.

Get a 22mm inline adapter. They're about a buck (not counting shipping):

Not really. The whole point of "machine responsiveness" is so that doesn't happen. One might even argue that if a machine was "all over the place" with normal breathing one would question whether or not it's operating correctly.

Yes, I did different pressure settings and the manometer matched what the CPAP was set to. The manometer probably could be placed in line with a proper adapter such as the one Nocibur linked. Not sure what one would learn from doing this.
