Is pressure to high after weightloss?
Is pressure to high after weightloss?
I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea back in December of last year. They decided on a set pressure of 13. I had no issues with it until recently when I lost 34lbs. Before I usually would have 1.5 or less obstructive AI and no central AI. Now recently I get either 0 or 0.1 obstructive AI and between 1.2-2.4 central AI. Before I was able to feel well rested and had no issues. Now when I wake up I'm feeling out of breath? I am not sure how to describe it exactly. It is like if I am fighting against the CPAP. I tried out app mode of 7-12 last night and had 0 obstructive AI and 1.2 Central Ai. But I still felt out of breath when I woke up. I have tried EPR 2 and 3 and neither have helped get the centrals down. I use the Airsense 11 with the small frame/small nasal piece P30i with no ramp, EPR 2, auto humidity. Any ideas?

Quit worrying about the CAs. I will guess they are harmless post-arousal CAs, and they are few in number. If you would use SleepHQ.com, we could zoom in and tell.
Your pressure curve is odd. Did you start the night sleeping on your back and then roll to your sides or stomach?

How often does this happen? What time(s) of night? Do you feel like it is difficult to exhale?

I would not be concerned about CAs normally, but since they started cranking up and obstructive went down I feel out of breath when I wake up in the morning. It’s not while I’m sleeping, but upon waking up I feel less rested and out of breath. I am not positive when it started. I’ve been having the increase of CAs for at least a month but the out of breath feeling for about a week.
I never sleep on my stomach. I go to sleep on my side. Sometimes I end up on my back but primarily sleep on my sides.

In the night you posted, there were very few (CAI 1.21), and they were mostly at the beginning of the night. I'm still skeptical that they were CAs. Can you post your analysis from SleepHQ.com?
Look at the high pressure your machine used at the beginning of the night. Then it settled on a much lower pressure for the remainder of the night. This is an indication that you may have fallen asleep on your back, and later rolled onto your side for the remainder of the night.
