Itching around nose issues

Post by sleepingbetter0209 » Sun Oct 05, 2025 7:12 pm

I have been a CPAP user for almost 3 years and lately have been struggling with itching around my nose. I use a hybrid ResMed F40 Mask and it seems to be working well. I believe that the itching could be caused by a combination of the contact of the mask, possibly the liner ( I use a Pad-a-Cheek liner ) or the air blowing into my face. I have tried many cremes, , sought help from a dermatologist, and still have this issue. Does anyone have a similar issue, and what type of cream, solution are you using that has helped alleviate the itching issue?

1. At bedtime, wash your face with a noncomedogenic soap - Cereve, Basis, Cetaphil - check for noncomedogenic on the label.

2. Make sure your nose hairs are properly trimmed. Long nose hairs can give the feeling of itchiness to your skin.

3. Just before putting on the mask, gently rub the itchy areas with a clean, dry, 100% cotton washcloth. This helps deaden the nerve endings that are near the skin surface.

I am not a fan of any cream or moisturizer underneath a CPAP mask.
