I finally got my CPAP yesterday after waiting on the sleep lab for ever I called my regular Doc who then called the pulmonary Dr and got a verbal Rx. My family Dr then faxed my DME the Rx. He didn't know that I was already at the DME getting fitted, my pressure came in at 10-12 so the girl set it for 12.
When I did my titration I used the Swift and I told them I wanted that for my home use but they had the Resperonics Optilife. They agreed that if I didn't like the OptiLife they would give me the Swift no charge. So I brought everything home. I hooked it up and got my hook and elastics into the wall. My wife thought I was crazy, actin like a kid in a candy store. I told her that I couldn't wait to get some sleep.
So last night around 9:30 we went to bed, I put the Ayr Gel in my nose and fitted the mask. Hit the ramp button and watched a little TV. I believe I fell asleep around 10:15. I woke up a few times to adjust the pillows. Finally I awoke at 3:30am feeling great. Usually I wake up at 5:15am and feel like crap but at 3:30 I couldn't get back to sleep.
I checked my display it read that I had 6 hours of usage but the number of sessions read 0/0. What does that mean? My wife woke up for a few minutes and said it looked like I slept great and I feel great so the 0/0 must not mean I didn't have any apneas. Any help with this would be great. Also does anyone know how to get into the clinical menu on this thing? Thanks a lot to all of the advice I have received on here I can't wait to go to bed tonight.
First Night Success
Train,
So glad to hear you had a great first night! That is excellent!
If your machine listed is correct, the S8 Compact doesn't have a data recording capabilities so the 0/0 is not related to apneas, I'm afraid. If you want to be able to keep track of your numbers or at least be able to access them each morning, ask your DME if they can switch you to an S8 Elite. It is also a regular cpap machine but it stores the data and you can see how you are doing each day. If you decide you want to do that, try calling them as soon as possible before you use the current machine too long.
Good luck to you and welcome to the forum!

More on my experiance
Thanks for all the encouraging words. I still feel great after being up for 8 hours. My DME didn't have the Elite but I don't really care, this is working fine and I'am not too concerned about all the self study, I was just curious. I definitely don't need another hobby.
I guess I was meant to be on CPAP because my titration study went well for me, no problems falling asleep or should I say staying asleep. Last night was great, only woke a few times to readjust my Optilife pillows. I really like this interface. It seems more comfortable to me than the Swift and I like the fact that the hose is centered because Iam a side sleeper.
My DME is great, I know many people out there have problems with theirs. They have been in business for 45 years and they take care of people. They have set up a automatic mailing system for the replacement items pillows, hoses, filters and such, and they don't bill for the small stuff only new masks and machines.
Any other comments, suggestions or questions are welcome
