Hey, gents!
Sorry if newbie question.
I am using a CPAP RESMED 11 for over a year. Got it throug my private insurance.
My mom, who has no insurance had also struggling with her sleep for a while.
She resisted for a whil but finally tried my CPAP as a last measure and it seems to be working for her too.
I want to buy her 2nd hand RESMED 11 from Marketplace, with receipt, purchased by owner March 2025.
To get best results she need titration by CPAP specialist.
But I defenitely won't buy a CPAP from them, cause she doesn't have 2000+ for that. And she is plannin to leave Canada in couple of months, so it makes no sense to pay for support. How Can I get her tested to get the proper pressure settings? Can I configure tose settings manually into used machine from someone else?

Re: Used cpap for mom
I would recommend a used Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset. The 11 is new and used ones are harder to find. I have seen posts here that suggest the 10 is better than the 11. I bought mine through Facebook marketplace. If you are patient, you can find a very good deal. I paid $130 for a machine with 30 hours on it. That is unusual, but you can get machines for less than $400.
Yes, you can adjust the settings yourself. There is a lot of information on this forum and the apnea board forum.

Hey, you are a newbie to the forum. You can only ask newbie questions.
Absolutely. Whichever machine you get, come back to this thread and let us help you with the settings. We can get you started and then help you optimize the settings.
A ResMed 10 or 11 is good. Make sure it is the AutoSet model of the 10 or 11.
Some people try it one night and quit.

I had the choice between a 10 or 11 and went with the 10. The 11 would also have been acceptable.

"Gents" is slang for "gentles".
There are no gentlemen left.
