Since I started on CPAP, I have been using this type of mask: https://www.amazon.com/Simplus-Roll-Fit ... 183&sr=8-7
I can sleep well with it, but it causes irritation on the bridge of my nose.
I'm trying to switch to this type of mask: https://www.amazon.com/Dreamwear-Replac ... 183&sr=8-6
With the partial mask, I am unable to breath (through my nose) comfortably. The air flow feels restricted, and it gives me a claustrophobic sensation. I definitely need a mask that covers my mouth. What can I do to get better air flow with the partial face mask?

That's called a "nasal mask" because ... wait for it ... it covers the nose and not the mouth.Atom wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 8:50 amSince I started on CPAP, I have been using this type of mask: https://www.amazon.com/Simplus-Roll-Fit ... 183&sr=8-7

Why do you say that? Do you open your lips/mouth when using CPAP? It's best to use a nasal-only mask if air doesn't leak out of your mouth. Please clarify before we suggest other masks.

Sorry but I dont mean to hijack this person thread....but I hope it is relevant.

I personally would not know if I open my mouth while sleeping with my CPAP but I think and train myself to nose breathe. (FWIW I use an EVORA Full face mask).
Considering I do use a full face mask (as the O.P is suggesting for himself)...my question is...does one get he same relief and benefits from either nose or mouth breathing?

Re: Mask issue with under nose type mask
Well, you are hijacking the thread of someone else, but nose-breathing is much healthier than mouth-breathing. This is regardless of whether you are a normal breather or are using CPAP. There are good sources of this information - https://www.google.com/search?q=is+nose ... +breathing
If you have additional questions, please start a new thread.

What about this: https://www.cpap.com/products/dreamwear ... -headgear ? This is a full face mask, based on the Dreamwear nasal cradle mask. ("Cradle mask" is my term, not an official term--it cradles your nose with an air cushion)
If you find that once you are comfortable with this mask you may no longer feel claustrophobic with just a nasal type mask, and you might be able to comfortably go back to the nasal only Dreamwear.
There are other similar full face masks if this particular one doesn't work well for you. Evora, Amara View, and ResMed Airfit F30 for example.
