Mouth taping for Hybrid masks?

Post by sleepingbetter0209 » Tue Aug 05, 2025 4:06 pm

I have been up and down with leaks over the past two years. When I experience leaks, I usually notice them coming from the mouth, and I currently use a F40 Hybrid mask from ResMed. I have to make the mouth straps very tight to keep the mouth from leaking air. I was recently introduced to Myotape (https://myotape.com/) by my Speech pathologist, with whom I am working to strengthen my tongue posture, lips, cheeks, airway stability, and jaw. Has anyone heard of Myotape? And can I even benefit from mouth taping if I wear a mask where cushion covers the mouth? I have tried chin straps but don't like them and find them horrible to adapt to; but mouth taping that doesn't cover all the mouth and create panic, I have heard, may work. I have also tried cervical collars and don't like them either. Any feedback is welcome.

With my ResMed F30i, I use the x-shaped sleep strips. They are cheap. For me, they prevent jaw drop which is the major cause of mask leaks.
