Looking for some assistance. Unable to keep mask on for more than 2 hours a night, other than a rare 4 hour night. Not seeing a difference next day between no usage, and 4+ hour usage. Doctor has tried multiple pressures and multiple masks. Will attach data from a 1 hour night and a 2 hour night below, let me know if you see anything noteworthy. Thanks in advance!

Re: OSCAR data review
There is nothing in your charts, not any adjustments that will magically change your tolerance to wearing the mask.
Prior to bed, wear it for a couple hours watching tv, or reading.
Gradually you'll become used to it.

Re: OSCAR data review
What stops you from using it longer?
Can you zoom in on the flow rate graph?
I have a machine that's incompatible with OSCAR, so all my graphs look different. But it seems to me as though that might be too much leakage. Wearing the mask while you're awake should help you notice whether there's too much leakage going on. I lucked into a mask that was a good fit for my face on the first try, but I'm pretty sure some people have reported that the leakage blows an intolerable amount of air into their eyes.

Additional Comments: I don't see Resvent ibreeze on the list. Its data isn't compatible with OSCAR, so I use its imatrix software. |
Re: OSCAR data review
Different brands of machines can report leak rate differently and what you see reported as leak from the OP's report using a Respironics machine is totally within normal leak numbers.
Respironics machines report total leak which includes any excess leak and the intentional vent rate as well. Most machines report leak this way but not ResMed or apparently your brand machine.
The Respironics machine will flag large leak IF it senses it. It shows up quite obviously on the graphs...and we don't see any here.
Now any leak could potentially cause arousals and that's a different situation. Even tiny leaks can cause arousals even if well within treatment parameters. So leaks matter but in this situation they aren't large enough to negatively impact the therapy itself.
Now does it impact sleep???? It's possible but not necessarily a given when people are having trouble sleeping.

Re: OSCAR data review
Guess an important detail I omitted is that I started therapy 7 years ago. Went through several adjustments to get to where I could use it. Then for a couple of years I was able to successfully use it. Something happened, started having issues again and eventually I gave up. Fast forward a few years and I am taking another crack it. But I did wear it successfully for a couple years.Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Wed Jul 16, 2025 8:14 amThere is nothing in your charts, not any adjustments that will magically change your tolerance to wearing the mask.

There is still no magical setting on the machine that will change your tolerance.
