REM Sleep without antonia & REM Behavior Disorder
REM Sleep without antonia & REM Behavior Disorder
I got my diagnosis almost two years ago and they said we’d start with CPAP therapy then go into other diagnosis. I have an appt in September but want to know more NOW. I had forgotten (so did my therapists) about this other stuff until I was filing my old paperwork.
Does anyone know where I can find more info about either of these topics? Didn’t find them in a search here. Thank you

Re: REM Sleep without antonia & REM Behavior Disorder
Please clarify the subject line. I don't understand that part of the diagnosis. Do you have REM Behavior Disorder or not? What are your symptoms?
How are you doing? Are you sleeping well? Do you have energy during the day? What does your CPAP efficacy data generally look like?

Antonia is a girl's name - double check your spelling and try again.

Julie, use your brain.
REM sleep muscle paralysis or muscle atonia

Use yours - the "n"'s in the wrong place.

Try again. It's not "wrong place". The error is using two "n's". There is only one "n" in "atonia".

Re: REM Sleep without antonia & REM Behavior Disorder
And to think all the opening poster wanted to do was to ask about REM sleep disorder and REM without atonia.
Julie there are times when you can be so ... what's the word, anal?
From what I understand this is a disorder that means you move when you should not during REM, and act out dreams etc.
This disorder is quite scary and upsetting because it carries long term implications (both cognitive and physical). I understand the poster wanting to find out if anyone here has been diagnosed with it and possibly to find someone who has experienced this to share ideas with here, and some comforting, hopeful words.
P.s. I hope I didn't make any spelling errors.

Having spent most of my life transcribing med stuff in teaching hosps I'm aware of these things - don't mean to be a pain about them, just aware.
