Dry Mouth with full face mask

Post by jbstevens30 » Thu Jun 05, 2025 6:11 pm

Using a Resmed 11 with a humidifier full face mask. I am a mouth breather when I sleep. Been using for 24 days and each and every night i get a really dry mouth and have to get a drink of water every time I wake up in the middle of the night, at least twice nightly.
I get 6-7 hours of CPAP each night.

Humidity level was at 4 for 1st week and now at level 6 but still get a really dry mouth and water will run out after 6-7 hours.

Anything else i can do?

My sister-in-law is a mouth breather and uses a nose cpap and when she sleeps, her mouth closes.

Is this something that would help me?

Thank you

Jeff Stevens

1. Under my FFM, I use sleep strips to tape my lips and prevent my jaw from dropping - https://www.amazon.com/Mouth-Tape-Sleep ... _sspa?th=1

Have a consultation and discussion with an ENT. She will scope your upper airway and make some suggestions.

Mouth breathing is unhealthy whether or not the person has sleep apnea.
