Nasal Mask+Dizziness

Post by geezal » Sun Apr 08, 2007 8:54 am

Has anyone experienced dizziness from using a nasal mask. I switched to A Full Face Mask and now I don't get dizzy any more..I don't think some peoples inner ear can handle the direct injection method.

Welcome to the forum!

If you fill out your profile or add x-tra info to your signiture regarding your machine and mask interface ... the learned/more experienced will be able to more easily help you out.

I tried a nasal cushion type interface mask and found it made me dizzy also. I figured I was not getting sufficient CO2 exhaust from it ... so I now stick to nasal pillow interfaces.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Vertigo (dizziness) and CPAP

Post by PeaceSleeper » Sun Apr 08, 2007 10:26 am

Interesting---I am experiencing the opposite. Going from nasal mask to full face mask has produced an impressive episode of ongoing vertigo. I've seen there are a zillion theories on pressure-induced vertigo, but no easy solutions. I'm not sure if staying with CPAP versus the vertigo has an easy answer. I do need to be able to walk and that has been challenging, especially without visual cues. (like in the middle of the night)

Whenever I get tired of the full face mask I switch back to my swift pillow interface and it makes me dizzy the next couple of days...the swift does make my ears pop and the full face doesn't. I'm afraid to use my swift now because it seems to set-off my positional vertigo.

I didn't have dizziness however a feeling of being very off balance. As though I was leaning towards one side.

I didn't have that with the nose mask or the ff, only with the nasal.
