Leak vs events

Post by desertguy » Thu Dec 12, 2024 5:52 pm

Long time user...just got a new Airsense 10 (old one had over 30,000 hrs) with an N30i mask. Feels pretty good, as before. However, I am using MyAir to monitor on this machine, and over the past 2 weeks have had 25-35 L/min leak nightly. However, only 1-2 events per hour and I feel fine in the morning.

Question: Is it okay to have some leakage if my events are well controlled?

(Before you ask, I have tried a few other masks this week, and yes nasal pillows do improve leakage but they don't fit as well. Despite less leakage (20-22 L/min), the events per hour are still 1-2)

yes. if the leaks don't wake you, I think you're fine. if you want a more detailed explanation, we'd need to see some of your charts. myair doesn't supply them. Oscar will. for the latest iteration of Oscar software, see this-

Youre MyAir report gives you an explanation on how the score is reported. On your report card, tap the leak area and you will get the monthly scores. In the upper RH corner there is an (?). Tap on it to see how the score is calculated. Your machine can compensate for leaks up to about 24L. To much above that may affect your AHI.
