Zoom call Oscar Analysis

Post by Jtg073 » Wed Oct 30, 2024 11:35 am

I don’t know if this is against the rules or not, but is there anyone who can possibly do a Zoom call with me to analyze my Oscar data?

Posting screenshots on here seems pointless because I’m constantly changing my pressure. Whether I’m using CPAP, Bipap, or ASV, nothing has worked so far to get a decent night of sleep. My AHI is always 0, or really close to it, but I always feel like garbage in the morning due to constant micro arousals.

Some things I’m curious about:

Is there any benefit in raising EPAP (on Bilevel) if your AHI is near zero? Instead of raising EPAP, should pressure support be increased?

You could upload your data to SleepHQ and give us links to several days worth of data.

If you are constantly changing pressures, then it's actually quite difficult to say anything meaningful about the OSCAR data, even if we had access to all of it.

At a minimum, we'd need to know the following before any kind of meaningful analysis of OSCAR data could be made:

1) Was your official diagnosis OSA? If so, what was the diagnostic AHI and the breakdown of events on the sleep test? What kind of sleep test did you have?

2) If your official diagnosis was not OSA, what was it? In particular, were there a significant number of CAs scored on your diagnostic sleep test?

3) Did you have any titration study done? If so, what were the results of it? If not, did you ever have a follow-up appointment with a sleep doctor to talk about the data recorded by the first xPAP machine they prescribed?

Whether I’m using CPAP, Bipap, or ASV, nothing has worked so far to get a decent night of sleep. My AHI is always 0, or really close to it, but I always feel like garbage in the morning due to constant micro arousals.
There's (much more) to getting a good night's sleep than just getting a 0.0 AHI. But in order to help you, we would need a pretty complete picture of what other health problems might be affecting your sleep. In particular, have you been tested for periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) or restless leg syndrome (RLS)? Please note: PLMD and RLS are two distinctly different disorders that can cause sleep problems.

Also we'd need to have some information about why switches were made from CPAP to BiPAP to ASV. Did you just buy the machines on the gray market? Or were you working with a sleep doctor's office and they wrote scripts for each machine based on something in your medical record?

If your AHI is near zero on a bilevel machine, the question becomes: What do your flow limitations look like and are you still snoring when you sleep with the machine?

And before making any kind of recommendation about changing the therapeutic pressure settings, we'd need to know what your current pressure settings actually are.
