Finally....

Post by Bubbles2024 » Sat Jul 06, 2024 1:36 pm

had a good night's sleep. Don't think much bothered me about the mask or anything else. I got almost 6 hours uninterrupted, woke up and decided to try for a few more hours. Scored an extra hour and a half. I feel pretty good today. Just normal, not angry, pissed off, etc. Did my weekly cleaning and didn't hate it. Next week I won't be cleaning it on Saturday because there is a big music festival in town and I will be there instead of donating my time to the machine. LOL! That said, I am still working on the mind shift and how to handle all my feelings about this. It's better, though, when I sleep well cause I don't perseverate on it. YEE-HAW!!! for a good night's sleep.......

Are you talking about a CPAP equipment cleaning procedure? If so, you might want to speak with members here. A reasonable cleaning procedure is very easy and quick. My procedure only takes a minute a day. Others use different but easy cleaning procedures.

Here's hopping that that good night's sleep is the first of very, very many good nights with good sleep. :)

That's great news!!

I clean my stuff on Sundays unless I don't because of other stuff going on. Then I do Saturday or Monday. Since I have asthma, I try to be diligent with what I'm breathing and this is the one thing I can control. :)

I usually do mine on a Sunday. I have a portable wash tub that I put on my shelving unit that houses everything, on Friday night. I put the baby shampoo and the drying towel next to it (no night stand). In the morning on Saturday when I wake up I take everything off and apart that needs to be washed place in the tub and take to the kitchen sink. I use a tub full of water and baby shampoo. Leave items submerged while I shower. After shower. Pull drain from tub, rinse items, put back in tub and take to the bedroom where I dry them on a towel on the bed. After I'm done getting ready for the day. I check the parts if close to dry I put back together and run the mask fit test cause it will blow out all the water and help dry. I found out the other day that I can even direct the air to dry the headgear pieces that aren't silicone or plastic. I have heard some people say they wash every two weeks or once a month.

Last night was a mess. LOL! Didn't get two in a row. Maybe tonight will be the start of a streak. Had the mask on for 8 hours, however took it off 4 times. AHI's were less than 1.

Yes, I empty my tank and clean my mask with a cleaning wipe everyday before I get out of bed. That's the easy part. It's the weekly cleaning that I find time consuming. However, I am getting it down better to where I do things during each process. Multi tasking is my JAM!

Unfortunately it was not. Last night was not the best. Mask off 4 times. AHI's under 1. Took satin off the cheek parts of mask one time. The silicone on my nose woke me twice. Not sure what the fourth one was. Oh Well! Maybe tonight will be the night.

I guess we all have our bad nights. The trick is to see fewer and fewer as time goes by. I hope last night was better than the night before!
