Resmed 10 vs 10 For Her

Just got off the phone with my DME rep.

Was told something that surprised me...set an AS10's Response to 'soft' instead of 'standard' and it's the same as having a 10 For Her.

Is that true?

No. Either a blatant lie or someone who doesn't know the equipment (which isn't the first time this has happened).

The soft response is NOT the same thing as the different algorithm that is used in the "For Her" mode.

Think about it....if it was the same thing then why even bother with the for Her mode?

Next question, does Resmed sell the 10 For Her with a usable modem, or did For Her die out with the 3G phone towers?

I'm getting a "we don't stock those, so you can't have one because you get what we want to sell" vibe here. It's beginning to sound like I get an 11 or I take my RX elsewhere. "we have a limited supply of 11, we have lots of 10, we don't have 10 For Her".

I don't know the answer to that question except it seemed like when the AirSense 11 went into full production that ResMed stopped production of the AirSense 10 For Her model because the AirSense 11 includes that mode. There never were all that many official for Her AirSense 10 models anyway. At least that is what I thought anyway.

I suspect that if you need/want the for Her algorithm you need to get the AirSense 11 and be done with it.
Especially if you want the modem part of these machines.
