I just got a new phillips respironics dream station bipap and I am wondering if it can run on 12 volts?

Look at the brick that powers your machine. What does it say on it? Somewhere you'll see the output voltage listed.

If this is like my Philips Respironics Dream Station APAPs it can run directly on 12 volts if you use the proprietary DC connector cord. Note that the same cord works for both Dreamstation 1 and 2 machines. Confirm this with your instruction manual or find a detailed manual online. The connectors typically run around $30 each. They plug into a standard 12v cigarette lighter socket so depending on your battery set up you may need an additional adapter with one of those.

You might need to turn off the heat on the humidifier,
if you are running off a battery--heat uses a lot of juice.
