PyApnea v0.0.4 - Apnea to Datascience

Post by jlaumonier » Fri Aug 04, 2023 1:17 pm

Hi everyone,

I am pleased to announce the development of pyapnea, a python library designed to help data-scientists working with apnea related data files. The preliminary version 0.0.4 can read session files from Oscar. It transforms data into Pandas Dataframes for further analysis or visualization purposes.

Please note that this is a very early release, which means it's still quite limited in terms of functionalities compared to what we plan to achieve with future updates and enhancements. Nonetheless, if you have any suggestions, comments, requests for new features or simply want to contribute to the project, feel free to do so!

Have a nice and pleasant day,

Julien Laumonier

Thank you for letting us know. I’m curious: are you working with the Oscar team?
Oscar software is available at https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/

No, he is not affiliated with The OSCAR Team. He is a researcher working on an Ai project who is extracting information from OSCAR Data files to help data-scientists.

To help them do what?

Help them (me at the moment, but others interested) to apply machine learning algorithms to Oscar data. My goal in the short term is to predict apnea events before detection by the CPAP with OSCAR data but also with external sensors (ECG, EMG, etc.)

Indeed, I am not affiliated to the OSCAR Team.

Have a good day

OK.
It might possibly help generate better algorithms.
I get it.

Just curious...if this is for researchers, of what interest is this to users?

Oscar is a free software developed by users. It appears you intend to commercialize your product. Will there be any sharing of revenue back to the Oscar team?
