?s After Two Nights on CPAP: Are These Numbers Good?

Post by Cedric » Sat Mar 31, 2007 8:25 am

Leaks = 28.9 l/min

APNEA-HYPOPNEA INDEX = 10.5

FYI: My starting AHI at my sleep study (no CPAP) was 72. Titrated pressure is 8cm.

Thanks

Are These Numbers Good?

Not particularly......but it's kind of early to judge after only two nights.
Since you're showing the Swift mask in your profile, you'll need to make sure you're not leaking air out your mouth......tape or Polident adhesive strips are the two short-term solutions.
If you take those precautions and your numbers are still high after another week, a pressure adjustment might be in order.
If you don't have the Encore Pro software and reader, I'd advise getting it.

Best wishes,

APNEA-HYPOPNEA INDEX = 10.5

Does your machine break that down further? Say OA's and HI's separately?

AHI is too high for me, I'd bump up pressure to 8.5cm and monitor it carefully, but I wouldn't go any higher than 9cm.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
