Pressure Problems

Post by SouthernHarmony » Thu Apr 13, 2023 11:02 am

Using: Philips Respironics DreamStation

I’ve been using a CPAP with a full mask for about 5 yrs now. Haven’t had any issues up until about 3 weeks ago.

1. I noticed when I breath in now, my machine gets super loud.
2. Breathing out has been difficult throughout the night & wakes me up.
3. When breathing out, the very small plastic “flaps” in the swivel elbow (connects hose to mask) makes a loud clicking sound when opening & closing…not allowing me to get back to sleep.
4. When I get up now, I have a belly full of air.

Note: I ramp up for 30 minutes from a 4 to a 15.
Has always been set like this.

Never had issues for the last 5 years and slept 7 hrs a night. Now I sleep about 3 or 4 hrs a night. My lifestyle, diet, habits, and body composition has not changed in the last 5 yrs. For what it’s worth I’m 6ft - 200lbs.

Any help & insights is greatly appreciated 😃

Did you get your machine replaced under the recall?

When was the last time your mask cushion was replaced? When was the last time the mask frame& headgear were replaced?

About 2 months ago. I keep up with that…along with the hose, headgear, & filters.
