off topic- insulin needles as carry on

Post by tomjax » Fri Mar 30, 2007 6:58 pm

I am sure there some diabetics who air travel here.

I started insulin about a month ago and use the opticlick system with Lantus insulin.
This uses a disposable needle with each injection.
I will probably have about 20 needles in the travel pack and will probably put in in my cpap case.

Anyone know if there is a problem with needles as carry on?

Tomjax, Here's a link to a TSA web page that might help:

I’ve traveled many times with my insulin and needles and never had a problem. Just make sure your bottles and needles have your name and prescription on them. I also kept them in my cpap case along with my prescription pill bottles. If it bothers you, and you won’t need your insulin during the flight put your needles in your checked baggage and just carry on your insulin.
