Remstar Pro M Series: have Cflex, not enabled...
... can it be turned on by the end user?
The sleep doc wanted me to have the data card capability, but apparently doesn't like Cflex and ordered the DME supplier to disable it.
Is there a way for me to enable it? Could a friendly DME do it? (DME was just following orders; they have no problem with Cflex).
Thanks

Unplug from the back of the machine. holding the two < > arrow buttons for five seconds or two beeps as plugging the machine back in.
Its always a good idea to right down the settings as you go through the clinical menu. After the beeps press the arrow buttons to the cflex menu and you can turn it on from there. After you change hit the power button on the machine and it will take you back to patient setup you can then choose 1,2,3 for your cflex setting.
Hope this helps

Hey !! Cedric
Can't imagine why a Doc would recommend disabling a c-flex, you did not mention your pressure but mines at 16cm's c-flex on setting 3 and i sure am glad i have it turned on, makes exhaling a lot easier man.

My titration study came back at 8cm. When I talked to the sleep tech the story seemed to be that the Doc didn't believe that with Cflex on the machine wouldn't come back up to the set level after each exhalation. Her example to me was that with Cflex on the machine might dip to 4 on exhalation and only come back up to 6 instead of 8.
They said that the Respironics reps had been in their office trying to explain it to them, but no go.
FYI, this is in Dallas and the sleep doc's letterhead says "Diplomate American Board of Sleep Medicine"; whatever that's worth.
I still used the super secret menu and turned Cflex on!

That's terrifying, Cedric. Has your doc even looked at a User's Manual for the machine? She might want to try it.
It sounds like you already know this, but...
Cflex drops pressure on exhale one, two, or three units (and a unit is not a full cm of pressure). BEFORE you even inhale again, it bumps it all the way back up to the original pressure. It's not that hard a concept to grasp. I'm honestly terrified that your doc can't do that. lol
