Sleepyhead with Dreamstation2

Post by MalabarFlash » Sun Feb 19, 2023 11:47 am

Is anyone using Sleepyhead with Dreamstation2? I am using Sleepyhead v 1.0.0 beta-2.

Notes:
The DS2 writes to my SD card, but Sleepyhead does not recognize it.
I would have to delete Sleepyhead to upgrade to the latest version. I am afraid my history will be deleted as well.
I am considering formatting my SD card with my DS1 and then putting the card in my SD2.

Please let me know if you got Sleepyhead to work with DS2.

Respironics (the sleazebag company that they are) deliberately started encrypting the data in the DreamStation 2 to prevent owners from looking at their own data.

This prevented existing software from using it. All versions of SleepyHead and versions of OSCAR prior to 1.4.

The OSCAR team cracked the encryption and the DreamStation 2 is supported in OSCAR 1.4. That is currently your only detail data analysis option.

OSCAR should migrate your existing SleepyHead data, so nothing should be lost.

SleepyHead is never going to be compatible with the new DreamStations. No sense in even trying.

Get OSCAR instead. The installation of OSCAR will prompt you to pull over any SleepyHead data.
OSCAR is based off the old (now defunct) SleepyHead.

The sleepyhead developer is no longer working on updates--or anything else, FWIW.

I just installed OSCAR and it worked beautifully with my DS2 recall replacement. It displayed my old DS1 information followed by the latest DS2 info. OSCAR showed all of my settings. I had auto on set but not auto off.

OSCAR works with the auto advanced device. I read that it will not work with non-advanced devices. I do not have first-hand knowledge to confirm that.

Here is a link from CPAP Talk I found instructive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCB1hbYF6Wg&t=4s

Apparently, the developers used the source code that JediMark posted. It works like Sleepyhead.

Hopefully not, Bob the Sleephead sheep mascot was murdered in his sleep by his creator, years ago.

I don't know where you read that OSCAR doesn't work with non-advanced devices, but it doesn't sound like a reputable source or you are quoting old information.

As stated in my previous post. OSCAR 1.3 (and earlier) did not work with DreamStation 2 Auto CPAP Advanced, but OSCAR 1.4 does.

A list of OSCAR supported devices can be found here:
