Encore "No Daily Event Data"

Post by hayeswildrick » Thu Mar 29, 2007 6:40 am

I've been using Encore Pro for about a week now with no problems -- that is, until yesterday.

Yesterday when I uploaded date from my smart card to the computer it gave compliance information and created straight-line charts for the various indexes. But on page 4 where I usually find timeline charts recording the night's events, I got the message, "No Daily Event Data Available." Of course, this is the only page of the report I'm actually interested in seeing!

The same thing happened this morning.

Any suggestions as to where the problem is?

Jeff

Sorry Jeff, I'm having similar problems myself. Mine recorded for the first hour of the night and then quit. I didn't touch the machine, so have no idea what happened. Good luck with your problem.

Jeff,

That's the "Magic" feature of the "M Series" machines......they make the data disappear on the 6th and 7th nights. There have been many, many posts and threads on this subject since the M Series came out last year.
I think some people are erasing their cards after the 5th download or after each download.

Good luck, guys.

My last SmartCard Vacation was 3/14 and 3/15. I have had good data since then and I wasn't aware of the 7 day theory.

Last night things recorded just fine for the first half of the night. At 3:30am I got up to go to the bathroom. There's NO DATA after that. I am positive I turned the maching back on - I woke up with it on this morning. So, 6 hours of information are completely gone.

I guess my card decided to knock off and start the vacation early.

I've read that the vacation tends to last 2 days but I don't know if that's without erasing the card. Does erasing the card usually get things back on track immediately? I would like to know if I'll be able to get data from tonight.

If ya'll would have gotten a nice PB 420E and the Silverlining software, ya'll wouldn't be having those problems. I've got over 2 years on the hose and data for every nite.

(Just pokin' some fun.....don't take this as a serious criticism of the SmartCard data system!)

Same here with my "Legacy"/"Classic"/"Tank" models.

I just think everyone with this M Series problem should inundate Respironics with their e-mails, calls and data.....and keep pestering them till they get an answer/solution.

I avoid this problem by reformatting my card after it has six days of daily data. Haven't had this problem since I started this reformatting schedule.

I contacted Respironics, Customer Service Department today. They connected me with the Technical division. They asked I send my data to them so they could forward it to Engineering. I just got an answer back, and here it is:

Chris, the engineers say that it is a problem with Encore pro v1.6. Encore Pro v1.8 will correct that error. Thanks Steve

Regards, Service at Respironics

So now all we have to do is upgrade to v1.8!!!!!

I've had 8 e-mails going back and forth with them. They told me where to go to to registar..............but that I'd have to be a Home Care Provider to registar. The last e-mail suggested I go to the person I got my present copy from. I just told them none of us have 1.8 and it would sure help us to benifit from using their equipment if we could gain access. We'll see. I'll keep updating this info.....................................

And here is their final word:

Chris, When the homecare provider gets 1.8 they can get that to you if they choose. I apologize Chris I can’t let you in to a controlled software site. Legal has instructed us that because you can change settings through encore pro it can’t be sold to patients. Steve

Like I told him, at least it was worth a try!

I wonder whether cpap.com would consider providing free (?) upgrades to those of us who purchased version 1.6 from them.

They told me they were not releasing v1.8 to anyone other than sellers of the equipment or Home Care Providers. I all but begged, but nope.

Ummm, not sure that that's the correct answer either... I have Version 1.8.49 and I'm still showing missing event data.
(Sadly, last night was an experiment for me, and I have no data to show me what might have occurred...)

Anyone have any further info on the magical missing events? Is it possible to get at it through another means?

Thanks!
John

Or they could have listened to our warnings, about jumoing onto every new horse in the pasture. The "Classic", may be heavy and solid, but you can ride her every day, and know she'll make it to Dreamland and back. Jim
