Hi,
I was wondering, what backup battery would most people recommend?
In a group I’m in on Facebook, I have seen this unit mentioned several times and highly recommended.

https://www.amazon.com/Jackery-Portable ... 945&sr=8-4

Was said to power a cpap machine for 3 full nights of sleep on a full charge. I don’t know if that is with or without a Humidifier. You would need a step down converter since your ResMed Airsense 10 is a 24v unit and the battery is for 12v. The neat thing about this battery is that they make a solar panel you can attach to the battery, so whether you are camping or in a bad power outage situation, you could still charge the battery during the day. It’s a bit of an investment, but could really see this being a great solution for camping or an emergency situation.
Hey thanks very much for this recommendation! This product looks promising!

I have a ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset with humidifer. I am not sure if i would need anything else with this power station. Do i need some other kind of converter or something along with this?

That’s a nice tidy small unit. Without accounting for power loss due to the inverter and based on comparison to my own machine (admittedly different machine with different settings and cables) ballpark I was using about 55w draw.

i had heat, humidity and 7-14 pressure range. This device probably wouldn’t get me 5 hours with those settings.

Someone more savvy than I would be helpful to chime in here. I know there’s a way to trim some and get more time from the pap.

There’s other slightly larger and pricier units that would potentially give you a little more leeway.

I have the similar model Aimtom and it does not seem to charge, I used it fortnight before. Amazon has lots of crappy Chinese battery packs - I slept 4 hours with humidifier.

With the crap reputation Apria has, I wouldn't recommend their internet store. (Where is ChunkyFrog when I need her?)

My insurance uses them, but out of pocket I would use a different store. These are just the items available, which store is good in your opinion?

While it only lasts 12-14 hours, I am in the process of purchasing this model. It'll do the job for the occasional storm that knocks power out where I live. In most cases the power is only out for a day when there's an outage. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/portab ... ps-battery

I would call the purported run time . . . optimistic. Make sure they have a good return policy on the item.

For sure I'll be asking when it comes time to purchasing the back up power supply.

I am fortunate to have a good local DME. You might want to ask your sleep doc's administrator for local recommendations.

I have pair of Freedom V2s. My only outages have been simulated, but they seem to do the job.

Pluses: No extra power brick needed, they use the Resmed brick for charging.
When placed side by side, they fit under my CPAP nicely.
Since it is a CPAP product, and not an automotive device; I was able to use tax free FSA funds to pay.

Minus: Wires connect to the front next to the display. They could have easily designed them to connect to the back for a neater look. I like having the display handy to check the charge level, so I live with the untidy look.

I have an old resmed S9 but I have their way over priced 12/24V DC to their 24 adapter. I also have an old car battery, a 12V gel cell and as LTO array I can hook it up to. My power has gone out for many hours over the last few months. I use Aldi battery chargers to keep the old car batter and the gel cell charged. The LTO thing is odd at best as it is 48V but when a friend drops by with beer a grand worth of batteries, how do you say no? The resmed thing is happy connected to the middle (aka 24V).

From an electrical engineering point of view, the Resmed power supplies are very good. Their A/C things deal with 250VAC (355 surge) every day for more than a decade.

I just purchased the UPS battery ( we still have this "atmospheric river?"), a very bad winter storm in California. So got a medical supply promoted but sold on amazon thingy. (I can return it if it is Chinese crap)

PS it can still be Chinese-made, but well made, rare but possible!

That is why I got the same on Amazon, but it cannot be that bad if a medical supply sells.
