Walgreens Health/Home Services as DME?

Post by netsweeper » Tue Mar 27, 2007 8:55 pm

Has anyone used Walgreens (Health/Home Services) as their DME? I was referred there today by my sleep lab and was quite impressed with the service. They scheduled me an appointment on the same day, got me a loaner until my permanent machine comes in, fitted me for a mask and allowed me to choose the mask of my choice. This seems to be cut above the norm for most DME’s especially when dealing with insurance (by the way, I didn’t even have to fill out any paperwork as they already had all the information from my sleep lab).

The staff was very helpful and gave me some great info as a newbie.

So far so good, but wanted to see if anyone had any good or bad experiences with them.

Thanks,

Chris

Wow, that's news to me. Has this been available all along or is it something new?

Well, I'd say its an indication that there's a tidy profit to be made in the sleep apnea DME supply business.

Well the funny thing is that I interviewed with this company about a year and a half ago. It was then that I learned that Walgreens provided home services, but they were only in a handful of markets. But the good news is, they are expanding like crazy. Hopefully they will be able to service most markets like the drug store has.

I get my perm machine on Monday and I'll post an update to let you know how they did explaining things to me.
