Unable to attach a doc due to "board quota attachment reached ?"

Post by Albatros » Wed Dec 14, 2022 4:12 am

I wanted to have a POST with a file attached (I did it successfully in the past).
I fail now with the following error message:" sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached".

Am I missing something ?

Thank you

Why do I bother with making stickies when people don't bother to read them?

Soryy for having read, but forgotten, the attachment sticky.
I deleted my previous attachments, as indicated.
Unfortunately, it was not enough to fix the problem.
I suppose I need to try later ?

Won't do any good to try later unless someone else has cleaned out their attachments as well.

I am trying to get the forum owners to implement a kill switch on old attachments so that they are automatically deleted after a period of time.
People have come here and posted a ton of images as attachments (most useless) and then they leave the forum and don't come back and clean up their attachments... I can't do it with my moderator powers.
After a period of time any attachment is useless anyway and if there is a problem we need a more current report anyway.

In the meantime you can use some other web photo hosting website if you wish. I use imgur.com myself. Free and easy to use.

I will try IMGUR ...
This may help...

1. Go to Imgur.com
2. Click on “new post”
3. Either drag your images into the “drop images here” area or click on “chose photo/video” and follow the prompts to either select it from your photo library or other source
4. Click on the picture once uploaded, then click on the “copy link” button when it appears
5. Come back to the forum and add it to a post using the little image icon Image and paste the link from step 4 between the img and /img - note you may have to add a “.jpg” extension to the pasted link for it to work

i understand your frustration and i share it.

however, there have been at least 2(maybe 3?) newbies in the last week who have come in and read it. i know because they posted their oscar charts in the proper format.

granted, that's two or three out of oh so many. but try to take heart that people DO read it.

A picture is worth a thousand words.
Sometimes I prefer to use my words--but that's just me . . .
