Good news - In love with my AirFit F30i full mask.
Bad news - I’m a extreme side sleeper and sort of clutch the blankets in my hands up around my face. I think it ends up right in front of the exhalation ports..
Is this okay ? Will the Co2 just dissipate through the sheets or do I need to change this ?
Even when I consciously don’t do this when falling asleep I always wake up to the ports more or less covered by my blankets- clutched in my hands

Any tips or hacks are so welcome!

You've been sleeping like that without a mask for many years -did you ever block your nose? Did you ever feel you were breathing in the air you exhaled?
Now, you're breathing in air that comes in from outside your sheets and blankets, courtesy of your CPAP.
Your CPAP is a bit like a snorkel or scuba gear. You're not rebreathing the air you exhaled. You're breathing in fresh air.
Do you think you may physically block the exhale ports, or is it the CO2 dissipation that's worrying you? Two very different things.
I assume that if you really blocked the ports, discomfort would wake you and make you push away the bedclothes long before you choked. Too much CO2 in your blood stimulates the need to breathe - and normally our brain won't let us sleep when we have too much CO2 in the body.
CO2, the gas which we breathe out is not like the dangerous CO a gas that kills us by binding to the hemoglobin in our blood not letting hemoglobin bind to oxygen and supply it to our tissues.
With my CPAP on, and my silent F30 and P10 love tucking my head under my blankets.
And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Unless you're using rubber sheets, you'll be fine.
Here's a test, bunch up some sheets in front of your mouth and try breathing through them.
Now, eventually, you'll end up with stale air in the bedclothes, but that's not applicable with the CPAP, because you've got a continuous supply of fresh air coming in via the tube.

Hi
Thanks for the reassurance
Just for clarity yes I’m concerned about physically obstructing the exhalation ports.
No it’s not a rubber sheet but evidently very dense high thread count as I can’t feel air when I blow through them.
I basically don’t have a nasal airway - 100% mouth breather but with the aid of my CPAP pressurized air is deliver directly up my nose!!!
And I try to just keep my mouth closed under my mask which without my CPAP I would panic…
In conclusion I will just continue to clutch my blankets up around my exhalation ports and not even worry about it!!!
Man I love this group !

Thanks to the continuous supply of fresh air coming in from the cpap,
I am immune to anything smelly that happens under the blankets--intentional or not.

You should see an ENT for a consultation and nasal airway examination. It's possible she could make life much healthier for you.

If you *can* blow through them, then they're not 'all that dense'. Think about it.
